SINGAPORE, 30 October 2025 – Heron AirBridge successfully demonstrated its advanced Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) capabilities during two days of live operations at Barcelona Drone Days on 8 and 9 October 2025.

The event was organized by Viasat in collaboration with BCN Drone Center. The joint program focused on connecting drones, data, and decisions in a live test environment that reflects emerging operational needs of regulators, authorities, and enterprise operators.

During the demonstrations, multiple aircraft, including DJI Mavic 3E, DJI M30, and the Avy VTOL fixed-wing, completed dozens of flights of up to one kilometer. All flights were tracked in real-time using Heron AirBeep-N, the company’s Network Remote ID (N-RID) solution, along with Gotonomi satellite connectivity and direct drone integrations.

Heron AirBridge contributed its UTM platform and integration stack, delivering:

  • Flight Planning and Strategic Deconfliction, with automated mission planning and embedded safety logic
  • Conformance Monitoring, providing live supervision against approved plans and timely alerts
  • Direct Drone Integrations, using DJI SDK and AirBeep-N (N-RID) protocols for secure telemetry exchange
  • Post-Flight Analytics, transforming mission logs into actionable insights for performance reviews and continuous improvement

These results confirmed the ability of the Heron AirBridge ecosystem to scale from single-operator missions to coordinated multi-fleet operations within one secure, cloud-native environment.

“Progress is built on shared vision and real collaboration,” added Ancey. “We are deeply grateful to Viasat (Mark Terhove) for co-organizing this initiative and to our partners BCN Drone Center, Gotonomi, and Galaxy1 for their incredible technology collaboration and support. Together, we are pushing the boundaries of safe, connected, and intelligent airspace management.”

This event also reminded us that the journey continues. Cross-border harmonization, ATM integration, cybersecurity, infrastructure readiness, and public trust continue to be collective challenges that the industry must address together.

Looking ahead, Heron remains committed to building the digital infrastructure of tomorrow’s sky. If you are an operator, authority, or technology partner shaping the next chapter of the digital sky, we invite you to collaborate with us.
