New regulations require drones to broadcast ID and flight data.

In Singapore, starting from 1 December 2025, all unmanned aircraft (UA) weighing above 250 g must be equipped with Broadcast Remote Identification (B-RID).

If your UA doesn’t have a built-in B-RID, get a compliant B-RID module before flying in Singapore!

Remote Identification (RID) serves as a “digital license plate”. It allows other parties to know the basic information regarding the drone, including its position, serial number and the ID of the operator. The information is transmitted wirelessly and can be received by other users, enabling better de-confliction of airspace.

As drone regulations evolve, certain regions now require drones to meet Broadcast Direct RID requirements. In Singapore, starting December 1, 2025, all unmanned aircraft weighing over 250g must be equipped with a broadcast RID device to enhance public safety and security. If your drone doesn’t have built-in RID features, AirBeep RID offers an affordable solution to ensure compliance without the need to purchase a new drone.

AirBeep-B and AirBeep-N work in the same manner to transmit RID.

AirBeep-B transmits RID using Bluetooth signals and can be received by any other Direct RID receiver app.

While AirBeep-N requires a SIM card to connect to a cellular network and transmit RID to Heron Airbridge cloud.

Use AirBeep-B for Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) drone operations, as it offers a range of up to 3km. It is ideal for environments where you need to stay within sight of your drone.

For Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations, or when you require a longer range, AirBeep-N is the better option. Leveraging LTE connectivity, the AirBeep-N offers an unlimited range, depending on cellular coverage. It is particularly suited for areas where cellular networks provide coverage, making it perfect for BVLOS operations. Additionally, AirBeep-N meets both Broadcast and Network RID requirements, fulfilling the regulatory standards for areas with such requirements.

A subscription is not required to use basic features of AirBeep. Users who purchase AirBeep RID will have free access to essential features in the AirBridge Mobile App, including monitoring AirBeep-B and other RID as well as managing their module. However, to unlock more advanced features such as flight logs, geofencing, and airspace deconfliction, a subscription to one of our plans is necessary.

For AirBeep-N users, access to the AirBridge Web Platform is required when using the RID as a networked device. AirBeep-N transmits RID information via LTE to the AirBridge Cloud, where it can be displayed and managed through the platform.

The AirBeep should be placed directly on top of the drone, ensuring that it does not obstruct the RP (Remote Pilot) or GPS module. For optimal performance, align the head of the AirBeep with the front of the drone, as it is equipped with a gyroscope.

To attach the AirBeep, simply use the Velcro strips provided in your case. These strips will securely fasten the device to the drone, ensuring stability during flight.

AirBeep RID can be used in all countries. Since AirBeep-B transmits data via Bluetooth, it is compatible and usable worldwide, without being restricted by specific regions.
